This Congress is sponsored by the Center for Science and Culture of the Discovery Institute in the United States of America, founded in 1991. It is a non-profit, non-partisan organization focused on research, education, action, and cultural renewal, and it brings together a growing global network of scholars, scientists, and public policy experts.

The mission of this Center is to promote the understanding that human beings and nature are the result of intelligent design, and not of a blind and undirected process. It seeks long-term scientific and cultural change through cutting-edge scientific research; the training of young leaders; communication with the general public; and the defense of academic freedom and freedom of speech for scientists, teachers, and students.
